"My Number" is a specific number that will be given to every individual who have a Japanese Residence Card, and this number will be used for purposes of social security, taxes, and disaster control.

The notification letter will provide you with a 12-digit number. International students will also be covered by this system therefore please note the following points:

●October this year, your municipality office will mail out by registered mail this "My Number" to the address listed in your Residence Card.
"My Number" will be very important for all citizens from now on therefore please keep the notification card in a safe place.

●Foreign nationals who possess a Residence Card (mid- and long-term residents, and special permanent residents) will also be given a "My Number".

●Students who receive an income from TUAT for work such as part-time job, Teaching Assistant or Research Assistant, are required to submit this "My Number" to the administration they belong to. Once you have received a “My Number” please submit it to the Department you belong to.
