TUAT Signs Cooperation Agreement with Universidade de Lisboa

On June 11th, TUAT concluded a cooperation agreement with Universidade de Lisboa, located in Lisbon, Portugal.

The signing ceremony was held at the Universidade de Lisboa, and it was attended by Dr. Antonio Cruz Serra, Rector of Universidade de Lisboa, H.E. Hiroshi Azuma, the Japanese Ambassador to Portugal and the TUAT delegation headed by President Dr. Tadashi Matsunaga.

Universidade de Lisboa is one of the leading universities in Portugal with a long history of 260 years. This is the first time for TUAT to conclude an inter-university exchange agreement with a Portuguese university.

In the meeting following the signing ceremony, Vice-President Kazuhiro Chiba and Advisor to the President Prof. Tsutomu Arie from TUAT discussed with Dr. Eduardo Pereira and Dr. Rogerio Gaspar, both Vice-Presidents of Universidade of Lisboa, about details of student exchange. Both parties agreed on the objective of starting a double degree program one year later, and to maintain information exchange on both degree systems as well as short- and medium-term student exchange programs.
