FOLENS office (10 students and 5 staffs) and FOLENS E&R Bases (11 students and 5 staffs) cooperated, surveyed and discussed about many environmental issues, especially sewage treatment, waste, recycle and renewable energy in Thailand. Mainly we investigated into the next 4 points.

1. In the Phuket sewage treatment plant we measured GHG (Green House Gas, such as N2O, CH4, CO2 gas) emission and abundance of N2O emitting microorganisms for its remediation.
2. In the Hua-Hin, Phitsanulok and Ayuthaya landfill we measured CH4 gas and heavy metal in the leachate. Also we investigated into the advanced technology to prepare the waste for the RDF (Refuse Derived Fuel) material and the incinerator operation condition in Phuket.
3. We visited Bio-Ethanol production plant from sugar cane and will carry out experiment to produce hydrogen for household emergency fuel cell in TUAT.
4. For the paperless society we got total 49 students and staffs handwriting, they are 7 participants in this training, 29 Naresuan Univ. students and 13 REO8 (Regional Environment office 8 in Ratchaburi) staffs to develop the Thai language handwriting recognition system.

From now the students are preparing their report, such as analyzing the samples and the data they got. Please expect Post-Field Reporting Seminar on December. (KY)
