Why FOLENS?

The FOLENS curriculum is designed to effectively develop future leaders for the environment of Asia and Africa, while letting the students manage their study for the program and their degree course at the same time.  The FOLENS students gain opportunities to exchange their opinions based on various backgrounds and to discuss environmental issues with an international perspective. The students can utilize facilities and resources at the ‘Coordinator Offices’ and ‘Education & Research Bases’ established in Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Ghana, and China. Part of the expenses such as traveling fee for the Overseas Field Training or Internship will be covered by the program.

How to Apply
General Admission Procedure (for both Master’s and Doctoral levels)

The FOLENS program is not an independent degree course, but it is a supplementary program for students enrolled in postgraduate-level degree courses of TUAT. Therefore, those who wish to join the program need to be admitted to one of the TUAT graduate schools prior to the application for FOLENS (See below for a few exceptions). For detailed information on how to apply for TUAT graduate schools, click the links below.
TUAT Graduate School Admission Examinations: Application Categories and Procedures

Successful applicants to the TUAT graduate schools will receive the FOLENS application documents prior to the enrollment.  These documents can also be downloaded from this website.  Students who wish to join FOLENS should submit these documents by the stated deadline.

The FOLENS selection committee will examine applicants’ background and potential ability as future leaders in environmental sectors based on a submitted essay and an interview.  Only selected students will be admitted to FOLENS.
