The third-year student lab assignments have been finalized

The assignments for the third-year students have been finalized. This year, three students were assigned.

I held individual meetings with the third-year students whose assignments were finalized to decide on their research topics.
Also, right away, I had them help with the big cleanup. It was a busy day: seminar in the morning → a small welcome party at lunchtime → the big cleanup → the welcome party.
Since we didn’t do it properly last year, this is the first big cleanup for the Shoji Lab.

We cleaned the floors and applied wax. Thank you all for your hard work this half-day.

At the welcome party that night, we had hand-rolled sushi and fried rice.
A lot of effort went into the fried rice—the rice was cooked the day before and chilled in the fridge, and it was generously seasoned with Chinese sausage and homemade chicken fat.
