International Houses and Hitotsubashi University's International Student House ("Ikkyo-Ryo")

The International Houses are provided at both Fuchu and Koganei campuses for international students, visiting researchers and professors. In addition to the International Houses, TUAT international students can also enter Hitotsubashi University's International Student House at Kodaira campus, which is jointly operated by universities in the surrounding area.

Application for Residence

Maximum Length of Stay

Residents up to March 29th, 2017:
-1 year in total for all TUAT International Houses (Fuchu and Koganei);
-2 years in total for Hitotsubashi University's International Student House;
*2 years in total for both TUAT and Hitotsubashi Houses.

For residents moving-in from March 30th, 2018
-1 year in total for all TUAT International Houses (Fuchu and Koganei);
-1 years in total for Hitotsubashi University's International Student House;

Application Process

Public announcements for all rooms will be made for potential residents.
All information will be posted on this web site.
If you would like to be apply for the student housing, please follow the instructions and complete the application process by the designated deadline.

Public applications open twice a year.

Fire Insurance

All students moving into one of the international houses or extending their stay MUST buy fire insurance and submit supporting documentation. If no proof of insurance is submited by the moment of move-in, residence permit will be cancelled.

For Visiting researchers and professors

Application for Residence

Maximum Length of Stay

The period of residence allowed per application shall be 1 month or longer and must be equal or shorter than a year. 　
It is possible to extend your stay up to a maximum of 2 years.
However, please note that, depending on the vacancy conditions, extension may not be approved.
※In case of requesting for an extension of stay, please complete re-application process following the same application process as below, 1-3 months ahead of the termination date.

Applications are welcome throughout the year, upon room availability.
Please follow the below instructions 1) and 2).
1) Please have host laboratory call or send an e-mail to International Affairs Office (address below) to confirm vacancies or to make a tentative reservation, and
2) After confirming availability of the room, please complete the application form for residence (download below) and submit it to general affairs section (administrative office) of host faculty/department 1-3 months ahead of moving-in date.
