Sakurai Laboratory

Research focuses on the development of chemical approaches to understand and exploit the biological activity of small-molecules and natural products. We are interested in the design, organic synthesis and biological application of new chemical probes, which enable us to rapidly explore their cellular destination or to selectively capture their target proteins in their native environment. Students in our group learn in the interdisciplinary field of chemical biology involving organic chemistry, biochemistry, proteomics, cell biology and nanotechnology.
