Sota Oshima, Ph.D.
Associate Professor
Prof. Sota Oshima joined the Division of Advanced Mechanical Systems Engineering at the Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology as an Associate Professor in 2025. He was born in Hokkaido, Japan, in 1992. He earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology in 2020, and his B.Eng. and M.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering from Ritsumeikan University in 2015 and 2017, respectively. From 2020 to 2025, he was an Assistant Professor at Tokyo Metropolitan University. He also serves as a Project Associate Professor in the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics, School of Engineering, The University of Tokyo, as a Visiting Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Systems Engineering, Faculty of Systems Design, Tokyo Metropolitan University, and as a Visiting Researcher at the Aviation Technology Directorate of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency. His primary research interests and expertise lie in advanced composite materials, fracture mechanics, adhesive engineering, and impact engineering.
