Welcome to Abe Laboratory!

research

At the Abe Laboratory, our goal is to understand a wide range of fascinating phenomena in physics and chemistry at the molecular level from the perspective of quantum chemistry, and to apply that understanding to engineering challenges. We aim to uncover and predict chemical phenomena through computer simulations based on theoretical physical chemistry. In particular, we are developing relativistic quantum chemical methods to analyze the complex electronic structures of heavy-element compounds, and we apply these methods to research in fields such as radiochemistry and geochemistry. Our research is driven by lively discussions among lab members, which help deepen our understanding and spark new ideas. If you're interested in gaining a deeper understanding of physical chemistry, applying it to new research areas, or if you enjoy working with computers and programming (or would like to learn), we invite you to join us! For more details about our research, please refer to the description below or feel free to contact us by email.
