庄司研究室は2024年1月に東京農工大学 生物システム応用科学府（BASE）にできた新しい研究室です。私たちはPIWI-interacting RNA (piRNA)と呼ばれる小さいRNAが、どのようにして"非自己"を認識しているかを明らかにし、それを利用することを目指しています。

現在は、piRNAと細胞内共生細菌との関わりや、piRNAの自己組織化現象について、生物情報学や分子生物学を組み合わせたアプローチで研究しています。詳しくはこちら

Shoji Laboratory, to be established in January 2024, is dedicated to advancing our understanding and application of small RNAs, particularly PIWI-interacting RNAs (piRNAs). Our focus is on exploring how piRNAs distinguish "non-self" elements.

Our current research focuses on the relationship between piRNAs and intracellular symbiotic bacteria. We are also investigating the phenomenon of piRNA self-organization. These studies employ a mixture of bioinformatics and molecular biology methods. For more details.
