Yoshiyuki Yamashita is a professor of Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology (TUAT) since 2007. He leads a process systems engineering laboratory at the department of chemical engineering. He is currently a chair of the department. He is also serving as a chair of TUAT international student exchange program at the faculty of engineering.

He is a chair of the Process Systems Engineering Community, Japan, vice president of SICE, and a president of Virtual Engineering Comunity (VEC).

He chaired PSE 2021+ symposium with Prof. Kano.
