Hello from Tokyo to our colleagues all over the world !

 Izuta

Hello, I am Prof. Takeshi Izuta.

In my laboratory, we are investigating the effects of environmental stresses such as O3
(a component of photochemical oxidants), soil acidification induced by acid deposition,
excess soil nitrogen (nitrogen saturation of forest ecosystem), aerosol and water stress
on crops, trees and natural vegetation native to Japan.

Graduate and undergraduate students in Izuta Laboratory are actively studying
the effects of environmental stresses on growth, physiological functions such as photosynthesis,
activities of Rubisco and radical scavenging enzymes, N metabolism, nutrient status and
anatomical characteristics on Japanese forest tree species, crops and natural vegetation
native to Japan.
