HANDS-kuchibue_d-97-06-10 (hereafter, this database) is a reduced version of an original collection HANDS-kuchibue_d-97-06 collected by Nakagawa Lab., Tokyo University of Agri. & Tech. (TUAT). This database consists of on-line handwritten character patterns from 10 writers out of 120 writers of the latter for a sample text excerpted from Japanese newspapers, covering Japanese, Chinese, Latin/numeric characters, and other symbols. The database is available for research purpose according to the conditions of use as given below. The database supplied by Nakagawa Lab., TUAT, under this agreement can only be used by the named applicants (an academic organization aiming to enhance the public interest). 2. The database can only be used for research purpose. It can not be used for commercial purposes whatsoever. 3. The sample text according to which handwritten patterns were collected can only be used for research purpose to recognize the handwritten patterns collected in this CD-ROM. 4. All usage of the database should be appropriately acknowledged. And in publications, the database should be referred to as "TUAT Nakagawa Lab. HANDS-kuchibue_d-97-06-10", or "HANDS-kuchibue_d-97-06-10" in brief. 5. In reporting the recognition result on this database, the way the database was used should be specified such as which sets are used for learning and which sets are used for evaluation. 6.
