Perception and expression are important in communication.
Expressing emotion using humanoid robots is studied extensively, and almost researchers are using hand gestures.
However, there are very little materials showing factors and impacts clearly about robot expressions.
Therefore, we generated emotional gaits for bipedal humanoid robot as studying to know the factors of expression. And then, we developed the predictive model of user’s impression for robot motions as a related study of impacts about robot expression.
As the results, we showed that (1) it is possible to express emotions during robot gaits, and (2) it is possible to predict user’s impressions quantitatively.
