Visible light induced reaction of O3-molecule complex

Although ozone has very weak absorption bands in the visible light region, a kind of complexes composed of ozone and a molecule has intense absorption bands in the region. In addition, upon visible light irradiation, an oxygen-atom moving occurs from ozone to the molecule.
For example,ozone-dimethylamine conmpex isolated in the low-temperature matrix yields dimethylamine-N-oxide with O2 upon red-light irradaition. The photoproduct changes into N,N-dimethylhydroxylamine by intramolecular hydrogen-atom migration upon UV irradiation.
